 Overview of Responsibilities:  Serve key role in the Manufacturing process through daily analysis of material needs, expedient placement of materials Pos, and steady flow of communication with Production planning on all facets of the supplies and Materials components of the Production plan. 

Key Accountabilities

Identify and acquire Raw Materials (RM,) equipment and supplies needed to support the manufacturing’s output plan, and support systems.

Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors in order to consistently guarantee the lowest purchased cost, acceptable level of quality and best deliveries possible as required to meet scheduling demands

Establish and maintain Standard RM unit costs applying known pricing information, and established landing metrics in the calculations.

Negotiate initial best pricing with selected Vendors.  Identify volume/price cost savings opportunities for existing RM styles as they arise in the normal flow of output demands.

Set up and Maintain all RM SKU and RM vendor related files in the MRP.

Document and track RM landing detail, to include receipt to MRP, price and landing cost entry and analysis, and relevant communication with vendors.

Month end, quarterly, and year end RM inventory value and inventory write down analysis for Planning and Finance teams.

Identify obsolete material and implement solutions to maximize cost recovery.

Track delivery performance, and shipping accuracy and quality for all RM Vendors.  Summarize and submit results quarterly.

Obtain Certificates of compliance and MSDS sheets from all vendors.

Assist Product Development in sourcing materials for new or updated product styles.

Education Required

·         Bachelors degree required.  Coursework in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or accounting preferred.  

Experience Required

·         Minimum two years of experience Purchasing materials and supplies in a manufacturing environment, utilizing MRP software.  Familiarity with domestic vendor sources fabrics and hardware utilized in technical clothing and accessories is preferred. 

 Skills Required

·         Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel and Outlook.

·         MRP or other materials planning systems.

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Critical thinking capability.

·         Self-motivation, a sense of urgency, and high ethical standards.

·         Negotiation skills with strong aptitude for resolving conflicts with vendors.

 The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing      the essential functions of this job. 

             While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving
            mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee will be required to walk                       through warehouse and production areas as needed.
